The letters of Lizinka Campbell Ewell during the later years of the Civil War (1861-1864) share information about the treatment of Confederates in Union Cities - Lizinka was put under house arrest during her stay in St. Louis. She also seeks information about friends in Richmond, Va from her niece Elizabeth Ewell. Her correspondence follows family gossip as well as a concern for the state of the South in 1866.
