Richmond July 23rd 1867
Mrs William Jerdone
Madam
Your favor of April 2nd 1867 was duly to hand. You state, in a few months you would probably be able to meet the bill due us. Please pardon us for writing again, which would not be done but our Mr Blair has failed in business and creditors are pressing for the payment of what he owes. We presume when you wrote in April last you expected to pay from your wheat. It being very important to have the business closed as early as possible, we would respectfully ask that you give a time draft on the Merchant you expect to send your wheat to or if preferred send a due bill for the amount. We send both in proper form either of which please sign and return us.
Enclosed is a Copy of Confederate Amts showing the value of bill in present currency.
Very truly & Respy
